Dana Chapman

Background & Bio details
Dana Chapman specialises in ADHD and has been studying the gut-brain axis for over 7 years.
Have you been diagnosed with depression and/or anxiety? If so, have you ever considered that these may be secondary to an ADHD diagnosis? When you understand that the same neurotransmitters are at play, it’s easy to see why these conditions so often occur together.
Poor mental health is not normal. Dana doesn’t believe in normalising it. She knows it shouldn’t be a condition you live with for the rest of your life.
We should be asking more questions about why poor mental health occurs. It’s time to delve into the physiology, not just the psychology. Dana has worked with clients just like you for over 5 years. She has seen firsthand that recovery is possible. When you understand how your body and brain work together, you can more easily support and optimise both.
Dana specialises in the gut-brain axis, and moreover, the vital role it plays in both neurodivergence and mental health. She chose to specialise in ADHD after seeing her neurodivergent son’s experience. Like many others, she realised that medication was often presented as the only option – but she knew there had to be another way.
Mounting research shows that people with ADHD are often deficient in nutrients vital for brain health and function. Yet psychiatrists rarely focus on that. Dana offers an outside perspective on what’s happening inside the body. She uses a test-don’t-guess approach to identify areas that can be optimised for better mental health and support of the neurodivergent brain.
Dana is a graduate of Middlesex University and has over 8 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including more than 5 years of clinical experience. In addition, she has developed a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and a passion for supporting long-term wellbeing.
