Background & Bio Details

Dr Christa Maynard identifies the key factors undermining brain health in each individual so that she can focus on addressing these. She is conscious of each individual’s capacity to make changes, and considerate of personal priorities and limitations.

She began as a PhD researcher in the Alzheimer’s disease field in the late 1990s in Australia and spent a 20-year research career trying to unravel the mechanisms of age-related neurodegenerative diseases and how we could prevent them naturally. With a lifelong passion for natural medicine, inspiration from Dale Bredesen’s research, and a realisation that our most powerful means to tackle chronic disease and optimise health is through diet and lifestyle choices, she completed further training in nutrition.

Working with individuals to optimise their brain health, Dr Maynard helps prevent or reverse cognitive decline. She is a graduate of the Centre for Nutritional Education & Lifestyle Management (CNELM, UK), with six years of clinical experience. Based in Sweden, she sees clients both virtually and in clinic. In collaboration with Dr Andrew Greenland, she coaches cognitive decline patients on the Bredesen Protocol.

Her extensive experience in regular laboratory testing, advanced functional medicine testing, and nutrigenetics/nutrigenomics provides a wealth of insight to guide interventions.
