SPACE – BETWEEN YOUR EARS – THE FINAL FRONTIER
How does your brain work? How can it work better? You’ve got 100 billion brain cells called neurons. Each one has thousands of tentacles called ‘dendrites’ that reach out to others. Where they meet is a gap and across that gap flow chemicals of communication called ‘neurotransmitters’. Some, like adrenalin, are stimulating. Others such as serotonin are calming. Your brain is largely made out of insulating fat, primarily the omega-3 fat DHA, rich in oily fish, and phospholipids, rich in eggs. These two essential brain components are bound together by a process depending on B vitamins. You can see how this works here: https://vimeo.com/736984663
Your brain cells, those neurons, are hybrid – they run on two fuels: glucose from carbohydrate foods and ketones, made in the liver from fat. You can see how these fuel the brain here: https://vimeo.com/736984708
All this brain power, like a power station, creates exhaust fumes with have the potential to age your brain. Antioxidant nutrients keep it young. How this works is shown here: https://vimeo.com/736984844
