Fruit and vegetable juice may protect against Alzheimer’s. Q. Dai et al, American Journal of Medicine;119(9):751-59, 2006
Details
A study of the diets & health outcomes of 1,836 Japanese Americans aged 65 plus for 10 years found that those who had drunk 4 or more glasses of fruit & veg juice a week were nearly 5 times less likely to get Alzheimer’s. A substance called polyphenol in the juice might disrupt the accumulation clumps of beta-amyloid protein in the brain which is linked to the disease.
